Endowments Are Not Just for the Future:Three Ways They Support Mission Today

When many people hear the word endowment, they think of something future-focused, or reserved for “someday.” But for churches and nonprofits, endowments can support mission right now. They provide steady resources, extend generosity, and help leaders plan with greater confidence. Endowments are not just about protecting resources. They are about extending mission.

Here are three ways endowments support mission today.

1. Endowments provide stability for ongoing ministry and service.

Mission needs do not always follow a predictable calendar. Churches and nonprofits alike may face facility repairs, changing giving patterns, new outreach opportunities, rising costs, or increased demand for services.
