Who’d have thought? We’ve already made it through the first two quarters of 2019, and they’ve been full of surprises. In the past several weeks, we have seen continued volatility, and the same issues that loomed over the markets in 1Q19 are still in place.

THE UNEXPECTED SURPRISE

Strategic investors were rewarded in the month of June. The Russell 1000 rebounded with a robust 7% in June and was up 18.84% year to date. When the fourth quarter of 2018 had the S&P 500 dropping -13.52%, who would have predicted an 18.54% S&P 500 rebound in the first two quarters of 2019?
