We find two types of legacy to be the most relevant when working with our partners:
Legacy of Purpose: In general, our partners tend to be most passionate and energized when focused on something bigger than themselves. Their legacy comes from the positive impact they make in the world.
Legacy of Love: A good example of this type of legacy is one that a loving mother leaves to her child. While the mother will not always be there, her child will extend her legacy of love to future generations.
Who leaves a legacy? We ALL do!
We have a choice in what legacy we leave.
Do you want to be assured that the church that has nurtured you and your family will continue to nurture others well into the future—even after your lifetime?
What will be your legacy? Will those who come after you know what was near and dear to your heart? Is your estate plan a division of worldly goods or a faith statement? Remember, it can tell your loved ones and the world what you believe is important. Your legacy can assist others in having the courage to make similar statements. Your legacy can take on a life of its own, as it becomes a starting point for transforming the lives of those who may not even be born yet.
Church members can leave a legacy of both purpose and love when they choose to support the mission of their church in order to impact generations to come.
It is critical that you remind your church members of the opportunity they have to leave a legacy and make a real difference in transforming the life of their church.
